Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new device.  I use mine mostly for Google Talk for video chats  and for games and as an e-reader.  I have most of my apps, games, music and videos on a 32GB SD card and free up installed memory for downloads and temporary internet files.  C Ya L8tr.

Toshiba Thrive Android OS / Re: Thrive Android 3.1 Honeycomb

Thrive got 3.2 upgrade from Google Nov. 14th.  Go to your apps and click on service station.  Unmount whatever SD card you have, power up and commence download.  It takes awhile so make sure you are powered up.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. L8tr.

Toshiba Thrive Apps / Re: Netflix and Skype

I installed Google talk and chat on my desktop.  With the Chrome browser  I have one window on Gmail open for the notification in case someone call for a video chat.  Friends and family has to have Gmail account.  Don't have to wait for Skype to get their slow app for Thrive to materialize.  Now I can video call my wife on Thrive when I am on the road.

Toshiba Thrive Help / Re: memory types
« on: October 09, 2011, 12:41:37 am »
You have the internal memory that came with the unit; 8gb, 16gb or 32gb.  Which ever you spent your money on. Then there's the SD memory card and the flash drive or memory stick. I opted for the 8 gb Thrive.  That's all I can afford. Later, I bought 64 gb SDXC card and I keep it permanently installed.  Whenever you download something, it goes on your internal memory.  I then transfer it to the SD card and erase it from the internal memory so I have headspace for more downloadings. If I want to transfer data to another computer, I hook up the thrive directly via USB cable if possible.  Otherwise, I load a flash drive, give it to a friend and let him run with it.

Check out the Roo cases @ Amazon.

SD card slot. Just bought an 8GB Thrive and an ultra 64GB SDHC card 20MB/s speed. A whole lot cheaper than buying a 16 or 32GB Thrive.  More bang for my bucks.

Toshiba Thrive Help / Re: wifi connection
« on: September 11, 2011, 11:05:06 pm »
Thrive comes pre-configured to run on all router types.  It's plug and play. My thrive at first hook up showed all the wi-fi connections available near my house. Picked my wi-fi at home and entered my password. It remembered my set up and every time I turn it on, it connects by itself. You might have to reset your Siemens...username "admin" and password is "telus". BTW, Siemens won't work on Safari.  Use firefox instead.  Good luck.

Toshiba Thrive Help / Re: importing data

Yes, it can be done. Make sure ur SD card uses FAT32. Photos: Go to the file manager and click the SD card icon on the upper left hand corner. Select files you want copied.  Click copy. Now touch the internal storage icon; paste. To see your pix , go to apps and select gallery and you're set.  For music, do the same  "from-to" steps using the media player app

Toshiba Thrive 10 General Discussion / Best game controller/pad for Thrive
« on: September 06, 2011, 04:00:17 am »
What's the best game controller, in ur opinion; is the best to use with the thrive?  Just curious. I have an "antique" xbox controller and some of the buttons doesn't work and unassinable on Thrive.  Thanx.
